This two day workshop will focus on the essential professional skills required for a successful career in the broad areas of science and engineering.

The programme includes lectures by prominent scientists including 2005 Australian of the Year, Professor Fiona Wood. Lecture topics will include Intellectual Property, Venture Capital: how to start a high tech company, Women in Science,Working as a Scientist in a Government Laboratory and Working as a Scientist in Industry. The lectures will be followed by facilitated discussion groups on topics such as scientific careers, research ethics, scientific communication,the peer review system and finding funding for research.

This workshop is particularly suited to postgraduate students and early career researchers.

NOTE: Cancellations and Refunds

Any amendments and/or refunds must be notified in writing to the Conference Secretariat. Cancellations received in writing up to 11th May2009 will receive a refund, less an administration fee of 25% of full registration fee paid. Cancellations received after 11th May 2009 will not receive a refund, but a substitute delegate is welcome to attend the conference without penalty.

The preferred method of registration and payment is via the shopping cart by VISA or Mastercard. All payments are made in Australian Dollars. Fees are inclusive of 10% GST.

On submission of your registration, your information and credit card details will be encrypted and securely forwarded for processing. An email confirming payment and registration will be sent to your nominated email address. Please retain this email as it is your TAX INVOICE and will be the only receipt sent.

  • Reprints of Tax Invoice and/or receipts will be subject to a $15 administration fee, payable in advance.

2. Manual Payment

Payment must accompany the registration form. Forms without payment will not be processed.
