Institute of Advanced Studies

Susan is responsible for the overall coordination and management of the Institute as well as strategic planning and development. She has a master’s degree in counselling psychology/education from California State University and a bachelor’s degree in social sciences from Bard College in New York. She has over twenty years experience in higher education management including strategic planning, grant writing and events management. Prior to coming to Perth she was Director of Financial Support for postgraduate students at the University of California Santa Barbara. Before coming to IAS, Susan was the Manager, Planning and Quality at Curtin University of Technology. She is particularly interested in community engagement and cross-disciplinary education that is the hallmark of the Institute of Advanced Studies. Susan is also an Honorary Fellow, Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at UWA.
