The Barry Andrew Memorial Address 2019 by Bruce Pascoe.

Join us for a public lecture by Bruce Pascoe, author of the award-winning book Dark Emu (2014, Magabala Books).

Bruce will deliver the Barry Andrew Memorial Address as part of the annual Association for the Study of Australian Literature (ASAL) Conference hosted by the Westerly Centre at The University of Western Australia in 2019.

Bruce Pascoe is an Australian Indigenous writer, from the Bunurong clan, of the Kulin nation. His books include Fox a Dox, a book for young adults that won the Prime Minister’s Literary Award in 2013, and Dark Emu, a book that challenges the claim that pre-colonial Australian Aboriginal peoples were hunter-gatherers. He edited Australian Short Stories, from 1982 to 1998 and was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Australia Council in 2018.
